Taco Day!

Here is a description of the meaning of Taco Day (put on once a year by a co-worker of mine and her hubby) :

12 hours of Tacos...It's that time of year again - time for tacos, & lots of them. Help us make this annual experiment of community, hospitality, and generosity successful for yet another year. It's really simple:WE make the tacos, YOU eat them, YOU bring some drinks to share & a few dollars to support communitasPHX (www.communitasphx.org) And since it's 12 hours long - if you live in PHX, you have no excuse. fern loves vaudeville

Booked our hotel in Vegas for Tahla & Fern's wedding! And she asked me to be her bridesmaid, awesome. <-- I've never been able to say "alway the bridesmaid, never the bride" and now I can... hahaha. Sigh. Julie (her MOH) and I are wearing black, which will go with our super pale skin just perfect. Maybe I can work on some sort of actual tan (not just burn, peel and then back to white) between now and then. Very excited! Mark and I are supposed to go camping this weekend. Like at a campground. In a tent. With a coleman stove. Our version of camping is in a motorhome in Mexico or the crazy weekends @ Nascar... oh there was another time when we camped, but slept in the Denali. Tahla and Fern were there for that, too, and pretty much made fun of how much we suck at camping the whole time. LOL. So, we'll have to see how this weekend goes (we might just end up at the Hilton in Sedona!).

i've been sick! sick! sick! the last two days. but i have to admit... today is the perfect kind of rainy & cold day to be camped out on the couch, sipping on soup.

mark and I went to east lansing to visit milady JSOS and her guy Matt... had the best time!

what a great trip! i've missed jessica and loved seeing her new home and getting to know matt more and meeting nokitty's new cat pals. and all their friends were great. oh and i bought one of those fridge magnet poetry kits but it includes the "F" word. love it!

first blog entry!

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the ASU Graduation last night and hear President Obama speak... He really gave some uplifting and encouraging advice to the graduates, most of which apply to pretty much anyone!

RIght when we got in to the stadium we saw Air Force one fly by, how surreal! When we had been there (baking in the blazing sun) for about an hour, we saw his limo back up right next to the stage. When he was introduced, the place went NUTS! He must feel like such a rock star sometimes. He is such an excellent speaker and I am so thankful that I got the opportunity (thanks Justin for the invite!). Afterwards, we were just in the right place, right time and we saw his motorcade drive by... pretty cool!

So proud of Justin for getting his Master's in Architecture! TMR rocks!
